Meet our tutors: Eric
In our next edition of our 'Meet our tutors' series, we spoke to our school tutor Eric on why he chooses to tutor with schools like yours.
Why did you become a tutor?
"I became a tutor because I love to be able to help others, and it's work which I can fit around my day-to-day schedule. With MyTutor I don't have to worry about coordinating payments, dealing with invoices or advertising, and the support team helps remove even more hassle!"
What's the best part of being a tutor?
"It's rewarding! Being able to see your students progress, improve their confidence and develop a love for your subject is an amazing feeling, and it makes me feel happy to be able to have such a positive impact."
What advice would you give to pupils about to start tutoring in their school?
"Make the most of it and enjoy it! As a tutor, we're able to devote our time to you and your learning, and this is your opportunity to ask about anything you're unsure about - we're always happy to help."
How do you prepare for lessons?
"I always go into my lessons with a plan, even if the plan is quite broad. This can range from a specific topic or question type, all the way to general exam practice. I believe in a personalised approach for tutoring and I make a lot of materials custom for my students."
What are your plans for after university?
"Things are still uncertain, but I'm either planning to go into either Operational Research (solving industry and government problems with maths!), Teaching/Education, or even Music Direction! Anything where I can make a difference to people with my skills is right up my street :)"
