Sir William Robertson Academy
For the last 3 years, we've been working with Sir William Robertson Academy in Welbourn to provide tutoring for KS3-4 pupils. After seeing a positive impact across the programme, the school decided to focus their support on KS5 pupils who needed extra support in English and Maths ahead of their resit examinations.
The challenge
Sir William Robertson Academy wanted to support their Sixth Form pupils without a Grade 4 in GCSE English and Maths. The challenge was to improve their confidence ahead of their resit examinations with the aim of boosting their overall results.
The programme
With the help of MyTutor, Sir William Robertson provided 1:1 tuition in GCSE English Language, GCSE Maths and A-Level Psychology to those pupils who needed it most.
The impact
The school saw a positive impact with their latest programme, telling us:
“We have found students are generally more confident in approaching exams as a result of working with MyTutor, and we were delighted with the number of students passing the GCSE resit exam, or making improvements to their scores.”
The feedback from pupils has been similarly positive as they like having someone who's invested in their learning and who they see regularly beyond school staff.
